After having consistent disappointments in dating I decided to have a reading with a reputable and accurate intuitive so I could get some relationship “nuggets” which would give me something to look forward to. Since my reading, I actually feel worse.
I was told that “the one” will not come along for another 3 years. Before then, I will date someone exclusively late this fall, but eventually he will end it.
Three years feels like an eternity and I have lost interest in dating until September because I don’t see the point of wasting my evening with someone who I will only see a few times. And what is supposed to be great news late this year ends in heartbreak so that relationship is not enticing either. I want to hibernate and not come out until 2016.

Dear Reading Regret,
Please do not to give your power away to a reading, no matter what. Assume the storyline may be correct, but the time frame may be completely inaccurate. An intuitive is looking at a potential reality, based on a particular vantage point.
Always remember, if you don’t like something in a reading, you can change it. Instead of being in that open, willing, curious position where you welcome in a relationship, the minute you impose the limitation of time on something you set yourself for a lot of trouble. There’s an expectation that prevents you from manifesting what you want, which is always in flux and fluid. When you connect to the pure potential within the quantum field, you do that from a position of having any release of attachment.
As an intuitive that has done this for 23 years, I know, and I tell my clients, that timing is the least accurate element. So my question to you is this, what’s the real issue here? Is it that you want to control the output of your desire? Is it a disappointment because somebody told you that you had to wait, or is it a disappointment because somebody told you that your desire will not be met in the time frame you have picked for yourself?
When we surrender to our highest good, we must surrender everything, including the time in which something takes to create itself in our world.
The best advice I have for you is to act as if that person is right around the corner or in your life today. Act as if you trust with all your heart and soul and have absolute faith there is a perfect partner for you; that the Universe will present that partner for you in divine, appropriate timing because it is perfect.
Let’s just play the devil’s advocate – you may need three years of life experience to find the perfect person. I had a relationship with somebody that didn’t last, but it was the best thing I ever did, because it prepared me for my husband.
What if the person you’re supposed to meet is the friend of the person you may date but not end up with?
So, before you deny or take away the possibility of your future story, just say, “whatever is in my heart is good and will be, and I reject anything that may harm me, and we’ll see.”

I can’t believe the timing of your response! I had a reading nearly 2 years ago and I was told that I would be writing books that would be published but I was told I had to start NOW. You guessed it! I didn’t start until a few months ago and I’ve been plagued with concern that I missed my opportunity.

Dear Colette,
I frequently pick cards from your online deck and John Holland’s psychic tarot card deck. There is one card that frightens me and that is the DISRUPTION card. Every time I pick that card, I go into worry and panic, almost waiting for something to go wrong. Also I think that anything good that is happening is ‘too good to be true’ and blame myself for the disruption. Sometimes when something good is happening, I incessantly pick cards to make sure that it is actually good, until, when I get the DISRUPTION card I re-affirm to myself, that yes, I knew it!..couldn’t last! I am actually afraid of picking that card in the deck, instead of listening to what it is telling me. And then I get confused why for the same question I get both a great and ominous reading. Could you please give me more insight into this particular card.

You are so right on that we need to have faith that all comes to us in the time it is ment to be. Timing that one receives in a reading may or maynot be accurate, but should not hold us back from living in the present.
Remember when one door closes another always opens! Keep positive and manifesting those positive things you desire! Be grateful for all that happens as it leads you to what is to be.

Indeed. Dr. Wayne Dyer says that infinite patience brings immediate results, and he’s right. I got readings like the one above, once.
I turned from them and instead focused on the Law of Attraction. I wrote down the qualities I wanted in my next boyfriend.
Quite unexpectedly, I met my soulmate. And the reading had told me I’d never meet such a person in this lifetime. Boyfriend begs to differ, lol!
I was told the same – husband also begs to differ 😉

The one thing I tell anyone right from the start in my readings is that the time is the most variable part of the reading and I explain how time frames and personal choices and doing the steps absolutely can alter any time potentials. I believe any intuitive reader has a responsibility to explain how that future time frame is really only up to one person: the one being read. Yes! Good post! I have found the best guidance has been my own and what I receive. But I have had many times that the one big thing that was off was the timing. “Soon” could mean a month to a year…and I have had yelling fits with my Guides, so I no longer ask for dates. 🙂 But I definitely agree in some cases, we can make things happen quicker. But for me, I hate the surrender thing. Probably because it meant in my mind doing nothing, but I see it different now. More of a time for being clearer on what I really want and then trusting I’m being helped getting there. BTW, love the daily pick.

Time frames can change all the time and we should not live our lives based on the timings given in a reading, everything truly happens for a reason and as you have said, it is all life experience – failed relationships, heartbreaks, they all give us the experience and make us who we are.

I am very interested in the comment about timing, and would love to know more. I connect to people’s past lives via healing and dowsing with a pendulum. I seem to get very definite answers to questions, but discovering that I have been ‘told’ by dowsing that the previous past life ended two years after (I later discover) the person was born into this lifetime can be rather confusing and demoralizing!!
I had a reading with someone over skype and she told me that I will never make it in my chosen career field. How much power do we have to shape our reality and how can we not give our power away to a reading?
Now will you believe that? NO! you are the captain of your own ship and destiny – Ask- Believe- Receive! Don’t let that negative thought take root.

When doing readings,I find that when people ask me questions such as “Is he cheating on me?” or “Will he come back,” I do not know the answers, because I use an Oracle deck that say things like “Sacrifice” and “Awareness.”
I honestly believe it is because I think the better questions would be insight questions such as “What do I need to know about the relationship?”
So, my question is what do I do when people ask for Yes or NO questions when I don’t feel comfortable answering them? Should I just learn how to do Yes and No card readings? Or do I say that I don’t feel comfortable answering those types f questions.
I stay away from yes /no questions altogether. The role of oracle is to give insight and deeper meaning, The issues of Sacrifice, and Awareness reflect the experience which is the truer reading.

I had a phone reading from a local psychic who had a lot of great reviews. I’m just coming out of a long term relationship that I’d hoped would lead to marriage, so I was reaching out for a little guidance & support. When I asked her if I’d be in a loving relationship again & every get married, she told me that she did not see marriage in the cards for me & that she doesn’t see me as having success in the love department. She told me that the angels told her that if I got involved in a singles group, then I will likely meet a husband. But she doesn’t see another solid route & she knows it’s not in my character to join a singles group. And that I’d have to work really hard to find love & she said I wouldn’t meet someone thru friends or family, on-line dating or otherwise. And was so adamant about a singles group. I just recently came from the Celebrate Your Life Conference & had been feeling so good. Now after getting her reading & hearing about how accurate she is (also much of what she described about my previous boyfriend was spot on), I am losing hope & feel like I’m giving my power away to this reading. She was so specific about the only route to having love. Please help me find hope again. I need some feedback & reassurance.

Years ago I went to a very reputable psychic who had been so accurate with so many people- he was quite famous He told me I would never have a faithful man, that my world would be humble and that I would live a life like a nun. That every relationship I attempt would end in betrayal and that I had to find dreams that were “right sized”.I was so freaked out. I am happily married to an amazing man and have become quite successful. I refused to listen to the reading although he told me a lot of accurate things about my past and my family. I decided I would choose another life. The future is yours to call into being. Don’t let the fear virus cut you down. Spirit is the source of your supply. Psychics see probabilities and hopes and fears and potentials and how things might evolve based on your point of vantage. Let it go .. stay away from readings for a while. I think I may have lost faith in readings. I’m not sure what else to make of it. I had a reading by a professional who saw the potential of me and an ex reconciling. This has taken me all the way up to one year now with no reconciliation. Though the cards have never changed and I have even gone so far as to get second and third opinions from readers who are reputable and their predictions are the same. My gut was telling me my ex is seeing someone new and not one reader has told me yes. But my suspicions are correct. He is in a relationship. I feel like have been scammed for a whole year. Why would these professional reputable readers tell me he’s coming back and he’s not in a relationship?
Were they only picking up on my hopes all this time? Because I wanted it so bad?
sometimes your desire is the dominant energy and if you were so fixated on him they all picked up on the fixation which in fact made the readings weirdly true given you were in a one sided relationship always thinking of him, talking about him etc. this is oracle abuse and also when oracles act as tricksters which in turn help you to hit bottom. Its a complicated thing. Its why I teach oracle card readings to be about empowering people to make good decisions.. less about predicting the future.. although as far as your letter goes it sounds they told you “probable” or Potential.. what was obvious was your part in the relationship. Longing and yearning is a big energy .. probable outcomes and potential .. let Spirit decide the form clearly you need to let your your attachment. We scam ourselves when we come seeped in wanting.Be accountable to yourself?
