What do Oracle Cards and Selfies have in Common?
How do you feel when you do something that you know is 100% authentic to your path? Feels good right? When you’re off track you notice it. Hmmm. Not so good.
When you’re on track, no matter that you might feel temporarily stressed or overworked at times, you also have a deep surrendered feeling of calm and truth at your core. Sure you might get all jittery, like dressing up your kid in the lobster costume for the Christmas play. You are still proud and happy no matter what, when you see them hobble on to the stage, to stand almost next to the 3 wise men. Your little lobster is Perfect!
Time for a selfie!
You choose an oracle card, hold it up to your face, and you see, “Eyes of Beauty” and that instant insight helps you view it all as perfect.
Click..
Then when you are off track.. Well, there is a sense of heightened entitlement, shadowed by a cloud of hubris, and adrenaline, and fear, and all kinds of yucky energy. You never feel grounded. You might have sent your kid to the Christmas play in a stolen angel outfit from Halloween, because the lobster costume was (in your opinion) trash. Your kid needs to be an angel. You shove them onstage, beside the baby Jesus, where they belong! Click.
You get the picture?
Your oracle card might well be the Hungry Ghosts, and show you how your obsessive ambition will never satisfy you. Sigh.
Now you see that the lobster costume was the right one after all.
Click. OH that’s why I was feeling so “off”!
Does this make sense to you?
Spirit has a plan for us, and oracle cards are an instrument to give us Instant insight, by holding up a mirror that confirms what our bodies tell us already, but we may not know how to understand. Our egos may want what we want, when and how we want it, but Spirit knows how to splash water on our faces, wake us up, and then gently guide us back to the path that is uniquely ours.
Oracle cards are snapshots taken in the ocean of your life, that show the water and the waves, the sand and all the things you cannot see.
But, maybe that’s too poetic.
Think of it this way, in a society of selfies, oracle cards are like taking a selfie with Spirit behind you photo-bombing! There’s always more than you expect in the picture.
When I work with the cards personally, I have come to expect to see the photo bomb. I look for it. I ask the question and I ask Spirit to show me the truth. Take the snapshot, and then I can see with more clarity. Sometimes I don’t like what I see. I might catch myself grabbing that angel costume when the lobster one was the one I was supposed to get. But, I’ve come to trust that when I follow the leader- Spirit as my ultimate manifesting partner- I am really happy.
The comments that have been adding up under the videos ( from my free 3 part Oracle Card reading course), are proving this point. The glimpses people are getting into their lives are amazing. And, isn’t that the point? Oracle cards are truth bearers- the selfie with Spirit photobombing us in the background, reminding us we are not alone, that we count, that the complexities of our lives can be gently simplified and integrated as wisdom, instead of choking us with confusion.
Isn’t that what we’re all looking for in the end anyway? A sense of belonging, a sense that Spirit is engaged with us, that we are not alone? It’s not just about getting what we want, but being in alignment with the highest good.
With Spirit anything is possible, and there is only one expression of Spirit in your form – YOU – the authentic extraordinary inspired YOU.
What is truly yours will never be withheld from you.
Who knows what manner of miracle could occur from that?
Snap. Click. Wow.
Think about it. Love to you always,
Colette
PS – THANK YOU!
It’s been a powerful week, finally launching my 3-part free video course on how to work with Oracle Cards (and I mean free – seriously. There is a 4th video, for those interested in my Oracle school, But if you don’t want to keep going, that’s ok, too, I still LOVE you, and will keep offering you more free stuff!) I am in awe of the response. Truly.
I guess my lobster costume works!
Wow….thanks for this…..I havery taken a break from the cards….should I say …ego has taken a break……because I was thinking that I am cheating at lufe by checking in with Oracle cards….This blog explains so fully why it’s not cheating…..it’s communicating with spirit…..I pray and meditate daily…..so I feel connected….but now I get that I can more fully connect through the cards…..AH Ha…..XO
Thank you Colette. Love the blogs, LOVE the video course!!
The cards are making so much more sense. Got a selfie from the cards on the weekend that going it alone isn’t the best path, not knowing is OK, ask for help. Such a great message. THank you Colette, thank you cards, thank you Spirit!
I have been taking your free Oracle course and it’s fabulous. I look forward to your Oracle school course thats coming out soon. I look forward to learning more.
Thank you for the almost daily wisdom and encouragement for us along the path with you.
Am continuing to whack off my sandbags that hold me down (back). Lot of work, whew! But well worth it. Thank you for the wisdoms you give.
Thank you Colette! Love the blog and the videos, and I am so grateful that our paths have crossed. I am looking forward to the next video and diving into Oracle School!!
Dearest Colette… you are a bright star. After finishing Gregg Braden’s “The Divine Matrix” and now reading about oracle cards being a mirror, I’ve had a little epiphany. Something to mull over as I go about my day. Thanks for your insight.

Colette,
Thanks so much for these videos! Just finished watching #3 and left a comment about how you’ve help me overcome my skepticism and fears and am excited to start using the decks of yours I bought a couple of years ago at a CYL event but never opened them! So years ago I started reading about and using Tarot cards and got very good at them to the point it scared me, even though I always only used them to help people or myself. I guess I was feeling the connection to Spirit but not sure what it was and got scared. But I’ve worked on myself for years and my spiritual development and know you can have your own personal relationship with Spirit. I’m excited to start using your cards but still a little confused. What’s the difference (besides the art work) between Tarot cards and Oracle cards? Or are they basically the same thing? Thanks for all you do!
Love, Light and Peace

Colette, is it as effective to use the app or a downloaded card deck as opposed to having the actual cards? Just wondering if an electronic device can access ones energy!!
Terry T
totally the same!
“What is truly yours will never be withheld from you.” I love this quote. At this time I don’t know if I can do Oracle school or not. Believe me it is well worth the money. As of today I have made me an oracle card reading notebook for class. Love you Colette, you have helped me in so many ways. Also I write poetry and in my poetry notebook I wrote, The struggling Rosalyn left today, waved goodbye and blew me a kiss. Thank you for your light work.
Totally another subject, while I am typing this I am thinking about my cat Lolita or Lola for short. Was so curious about the beans I was cooking got on the stove to smell them and burnt her nose. I feel so bad for her, I put a cold tissue on it and some avacado oil. Thanks for listening!
Diane.
Hi Colette – I love The Wisdom of Avalon Oracle. I have all your decks but this one I return to – maybe because I was born in London. I have just found out that the deck has been revised. Please tell me where I can see the revised cards online because I have several friends and myself who are interested in purchasing the ‘revised’ deck.
Luv you! (aka Brit’ Bunny!)
