How to Really Make Magic in 2017- Learn how to Coddiwomple !
Yes you heard me correctly. Isn’t that the best word? Just saying it out loud makes me want to know how to do it. It feels like it belongs in a magical Harry Potter universe even though it’s actually an old English slang word.
And no it’s not a dance, although in some way learning the art of coddiwomple is indeed something that is conscious of rhythm, but it’s the rhythm that arises from music heard by the soul, played through the web of invisible strands that make up our world as an instrument of Spirit.
Maybe dancing to the beat of a different drum where we’re meant to stumble across miracles and other unexpected gifts along the way. What way? To Where? Well, to nowhere specific other than to have experience for its own sake.
It’s not easy although it sounds like a funky and fun thing to do for those of us who know that the way forward is uncharted. (Actually a couple of people in my Uncharted Book Club on Facebook posted the same meme about the word which got me to writing this blog)
The key to coddiwompling is to be a determined traveler, but to release attachment to the “where” at the same time. To properly coddiwomple is to release all need to know the final destination, to let go attachments to a specific form or experience in favor of travelling “purposely toward a vague or as yet unknown destination”.
Manifesting your reality in the most magical way possible should include some coddiwompling. . Why? Because now more than ever the result of “where we end up” is less and less predictable as so many variables converge to reveal new directions and pathways, that come with uncovering truths hidden in the layers of life that seem to perplex even the most adventurous of us.
Magic happens as the result of the alchemy between us, our desires and Spirit, and when we surrender to Spirit, amazing things happen, formless becomes Form made manifest seemingly out of thin air. Synchronicity becomes more and more real as the invisible world proves itself to be the greater reality.
It’s why I refuse to listen to negative predictions and postulations about the future state of the world. We have power. We have the power to speak, to stand up for ourselves, to say what we believe, to know we are enough, to remember that freedom needs to be claimed and not assumed and to use whatever skills, talents and imaginations we have to better the world.
We can co-create a powerful magical life no matter what the current conditions of our world. Not like the radically ever happy Pollyanna but perhaps like her well informed twin sister with a goodness radar strapped to her forehead and her attention fixated on discovering what works, what can be shared and what can be healed. ( Ok she sounds kind of weird but you get the picture)
One of the participants that attended my workshop at Kripalu this past weekend told me today how she came to me and why she was still wanting to study with me. Ever since she came to one of my events she has been coming to all of them. She is a woman I have seen blossom in front of my eyes in the most amazing ways. She is vibrant and brimming with life and possibility and her eyes twinkle in a way that just makes me smile in anticipation of a miracle.
She said “ You know, I don’t know why I keep coming but I just know I have to! No idea where it will take me but it’s already changed me so much. I just know it’s right.” How often have you just known you need to keep going, to keep exploring something with no clue other than your intuition and a deep sense of “ determined rightness” even if you have no destination in mind? That is what it means to coddimomple!
This week, consider the idea of following only that intuitive push, that invitation to travel into each 24 hours with only the goal of experience, and curiosity. I bet if you coddiwomple you will discover there is magic everywhere if you open your heart and eyes. Spirit has a plan .. and a destination much better than yours or mine. If we follow along… we will surely experience more than we could imagine.
Hi Colette, I enjoyed reading this !!!! .. this was the perfect read for me after attending the amazing workshop at Kripalu .. thank you .. the workshop was so much fun and so deep .. a magic combination .. xoxo .. Lisa
Awesome! I love the way you put things together including magical words, ideas and imagination!
This word reminds me of the poem from Lewis Carrol’s “Alice in Wonderland” beginning with “twas brillig, and the slithy toves
did gyre and gimble in the wabe
All mimsy were the borogroves
and the momeraths outgrabe…”
I loved that poem because I loved the sound of the words, I love playing with sound and language… and they were, to me, magical words.
The unfamiliar, new, magical and mysterious still appeals to me. Today, I let Spirit guide my journey and it remains magical, new and mysterious, not without challenges but full of gifts. Spirit led me to study with you,Colette, and I have not been disappointed. I will definitely coddiwomple with this Tribe along this Uncharted path because it feels loving and “right” and I am learning and blossoming. It’s so good to be in a greater community who speak my “language”. Much love to All ♥
The older is get the more I release. As I release I allow more and keep getting bette at this coddimomple thing! What a fun blog!
ah yes you my dear are beginning to be an expert coddiwompler!
The day begins before the light of dawn in the hour that Spirit visits the soul. It’s in a state called
Vast-in-Beyond with one road into the burg of Coddiwomple. The cobblestones glisten from the stars above and the shops overbrim with fresh starts and blessings. Grace is the meal feasted upon with Creme de la Joie rolling over the tongue. The savory sweet satisfied Soul twiddles the footsteps that carry the whole of a heart filled with love that snuggles and bubbles with the quickening – that moment just before – the thunder and lightening that brings on the New

Hi! Great timing on this one as I am currenting visiting Florida this week, exploring the possibility of relocating. I don’t know a soul here but it’s been on my mind for years. I don’t know if I am doing the right thing. It’s overwhelming to think about! Selling my perfect little house, moving far away from my kids and family, finding a place to live, trying to make new friends. Prayers appreciated! #Ineedcourage
Wow! I coddiwomple. I am going some where with a determined rightness. Dang, if I know where I am going. Yet, I go.
It kinda reminds me of the fool card in the tarot.
Did not know it had a name. Now, I know.
I coddiwomple.
Embrace the Magic! ???? Mount your Dragons! ???? Time to Coddiewomple! ????

So I now have six delightful little grandsons and my first Princess so life is amazing…The world is what we make it and what we shift within to see without. We have the power through positive action to shift all individually and together..Thinking about that cruise..did one with you a few years ago and it was amazing…so wishing your tribe and you beauty the best 2017! Love and Light and Magick!
OMGosh!! Talk about synchronicity! Yesterday I was talking with a friend of mine about starting a Healing Arts Collective. I am intuitive and a Reiki Master, she does astrology and ess oils and we have several others who also practice other healing modalities. This is so exciting as we wanted to do this about 2 years ago and did not seem possible but now everything in now falling into place. My vision as well as myself have changed as I look back now. Ready to fly high on to greater things with spirit as my guide <3
I have been doing sound healing work since 2012 started way before that dealing with my stuff. but when I started working with clients it was in 2012 and I intuitively had a native Voice come through I allowed it to come through and it was very healing for the clients that I have had. I went to Costa Rica in December 2015 to a retreat and a couple of ladies wanted to have a session simultaneously and I hadn’t brought any of my instruments to the retreat, I was guided to do the session for the two ladies we ended up down at a studio right on the ocean with hardwood floors and so we started the session I put them in specific position did energy work around them and such and was guided to use the hardwood floor as a drum at one point my guide said to sing and I’ve never sung anything other than some country songs around the kitchen while I was cooking, may be in the shower but anyway I just intuitively let go and started singing and it was my native voice that I use in healing work that came through and it was very beautiful i never thought nothing of it after that, it was the fall 2016 when a gentleman that I hadn’t seen for many years was in the east Indian restaurant that I was eating at suggested that I go to karaokI kinda chuckled but I ended up going tried singing a few of my favorite country songs but it didn’t work out all that well it’s a lot harder than it looks but anyway I was Guided by Spirit to start singing my Native songs and got the OK from the gentleman who was running the karaoke and allowed those songs to come out and express myself they make me feel very very good he has a recording studio so tomorrow through a few synchronicities we are going to record the songs. I thank you for what all you brought into my life with Uncharted, and you really changed my life years ago from messages from Spirit it gave me confidence on where I want to go and who I am today thank you love you and peace Alfred
You a great inspiration for me.It his not because 40 years ago The end of The story had a bad ending that it will end The same way now. We don t know .I just sabotage The moments because I am afraid it will end The same way.But you are Wright it his uncharted.
what a beautiful post Alfred – thank you for sharing
YAY!Love it! I have such a big smile on my face right now. Thanks babe????????????????????
Your welcome Collette I was stressing about what the back ground music was going to be manifested a foot problem about stepping into my power, i step forward with joy and with ease, thanks Louise Hay… Today I was guided to lay back and relax and after I came up for my meditation a bird landed on the roof of my place instantly I heard nature in my head so in the background music will be nature music,so perfect. Peace

Love it! 🙂 I love the sound of words and coddiwomple is a delight. It’s also ideal to describe how I’m feeling right now. I’ve been struggling with the energy of “not doing enough”, “need to have a definitive plan” so it’s getting that balance with committing to change and an overall picture whilst letting go and trusting that every single step of inspired action is enough. Here’s to coddiwompling!
yay!
I love this word and the description. I have yoga, then a Reiki session with a new client and then a massage. I will certainly coddiwomple through this day! Please consider bringing one of your workshops to the Charlotte NC area. Blessed be!
Love the “onomatopoeia” of the word. It conjures ideas of coddling and play at the same time. Nurturing, loving just because. It carries a delightful energy with it. As someone who loves to learn; that is an integral part of the way I live. Curiosity being the fuel that inspires, or attracts our attention.
Thank you Colette for sharing the word and the essence of its meaning. Everyday of life is a gift and an enriching one that is constantly opening new doors, and inviting our spirits to expand and to grow in miraculous ways. Open-mind, heart and a playful spirit will provide all we need to welcome serendipity into our lives. Being present allows us to receive the gifts that are truly intended for our growth on every level. Here’s to a year of becoming a “coddiwampler”!!! What could be more fun??
The good news: I feel this has come naturally to me to be a coddiewompler! Still patiently waiting however for the ‘experience more than I can imagine’ part…. but I have the faith, always to try, just one more time. Thank you for your compellingly-written posts and videos! It helps to know of your area of expertise… makes it feel like whatever is happening is all part of a master plan.
Such a great experience. Thanks for telling us — I too have a Native American voice in my head. I call him “Chief” — he has given me prayers and chants and sound vibrations in nature. When your recording is finished, please find a way to share it with us!
Dearest Colette,
I am learning so much about myself as a result of your blog, Unchartered Book and Oracle Cards…just finished the replay of claim a new you webinar…totally resonated to it and I must say a light-filled THANK YOU! to you for sharing your beautiful, authentic self and wisdom with all of us.
Love and Peace,
Laura
it is my sincere pleasure and this makes me SO happy!
Dear Colette, I would like to offer a different perspective about people’s perceptions of Pollyanna. I think she has been wrongfully stereotyped over the years. Her story pulled me out of some deep depression when I was about 11 so I became a huge fan.
Because my son knew of my interest in her he gifted me with not only the 1960s movie with Hayley Mills but with the books that the movie comes from.
So I’m watching this movie as an adult and here comes this young girl who has been tragically orphaned and plunked down in a home with a very strict and unfeeling auntie.
She struggles with all the rules and the harsh environment. But through it all, she clings to the one gift from her father, the Glad game. He taught her that even in the darkest times if you worked at it, you could find something to be glad about.
Because she shared this game with even the grumpiest in the community, they began to transform and came to love her for showing them the light in their own Darkness. She did not ignore or discount the bad stuff that was going on, but she did offer a way to look at things differently.
Not only do we do her an injustice by branding her as this flaky, overly optimistic individual, but in brushing her off we lose sight of the gift that she brings to this day- a way to dispel our own Darkness or at least find the tiniest shred of light to help us get through whatever is a challenge for us.
I encourage everyone to either read the books or watch the old movie. There is much magic to be found for all of us. With great respect, Sue
Sue OMG this is SO Amazing I completely forgot about the Hayley Mills movie and you are so right.. we need to remember the real Pollyanna..indeed. 😉 I so appreciate you sharing
