This week, we transition from the transformative energy of Scorpio, leaving the pain of the past behind, as we enter that time of the year where the energy of Sagittarius rules. Sagittarius is all about optimism, visualizing a brighter future, keeping an open mind, suspending judgment, and being mindful of our words.
Oh, wait—that’s the ideal, not necessarily the reality.
Under this influence, it’s also quite possible to blurt things out you might regret while overindulging in all the “things”. Personally, I’ve never been one to overshare under the influence of marzipan and holiday cookies, but I’m not exactly thrilled about the waistband issues that arise post-holiday season.
Yes, I know—Mercury Retrograde began this week, adding another layer of complexity. Still, this marks the beginning of the holiday season, ruled by Jupiter. While Mercury’s influence may slow things down (which frankly is not a bad thing!), it can bring challenges like travel delays or the need to tread carefully during conversations with relatives who hold differing opinions and viewpoints than your own. Despite that, this is genuinely a time to regroup and find common ground—or even higher ground.
Here’s a helpful question to ask yourself during this time: If I could suspend judgment on all I am judging, what else could be true? What could I discover? What else could this mean?
The other option, of course, is to just stay home, covers over your head, all the holiday movies on your tablet, your favorite holiday treats in hand, and wait until New Year’s to come out, but I really doubt that would work out well for most of us.
As for me, I know I will be doing a major decluttering and writing a love letter to what was so I can make space for what’s to come. That, and drawing some more frequency art, which you’ll learn more about in 2025. It’s been quite a year, hasn’t it?
One thing I know for sure is this: life on life’s terms will always be part of the “rules of the game” of life. The higher truth lies in radical acceptance, the willingness to be with “both/ and” of life, and a recommitment to a spiritual practice. It’s about remembering who is really in charge—and who rarely lets us in on WHY THINGS HAPPEN. (In case you’re wondering who I am referring to – it’s God/Source/The Universe, etc.)
Finally, let’s not forget two essential ingredients for this season: gratitude and a big dose of a good sense of humor.
Happy holidays to all! Let the good vibes begin.
